Welcome to Ferrand Cards, a part of the Ferrand Industries Network. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website or submit information to update your card preferences.

By using our website and submitting information, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please submit your request by mail along with proof of donation to a 501(c)3 charity local to you, such as a donation receipt of at least $20, dated within 30 days of the postage date of the request.

01 Information We Collect

Ferrand Cards collects only what is needed to actually get a card to you, or someone you nominate, on time. Depending on how you get on the list, this can include:

• Personal Information:
  • Name, mailing address, and phone number
  • Birthday and anniversary, if you would like cards for them
  • A partner’s or spouse’s name and birthday, if you add one
  • Email address, and a password if you choose to create an account
  • Which occasions you would like cards for, and which you would rather skip
• If you sponsor a card:
  • Your name, email, and any note or dedication you include
  • Payment is handled directly by Stripe or PayPal – we never see or store your card number. We do keep a record of the transaction itself (amount, date, and the contact details above) for our own bookkeeping.
• Technical Information (anonymous and automatically collected):
  • IP address (temporary, for security purposes)
  • Browser type and version
  • Time zone settings
  • Device type and operating system

You do not need to create an account to receive cards. A simpler, no-login form is always available, and someone else can add you to the list on your behalf.

02 How We Use Your Information

The personal information you provide is used solely for:

• Sending greeting cards based on your preferences.
• Updating mailing addresses for accuracy.
• Ensuring you do not receive cards you’ve opted out of.

We do not use your data for:

Because Ferrand Cards mails cards on a recurring, year-after-year basis, we keep your details on file for as long as you are an active recipient, so the right card still finds you next year without asking you to fill out the form again. See Section 06 for how to have everything removed at any time.

03 How We Protect Your Data

We take data security seriously and implement multiple safeguards:

• Limited Data Retention: We keep only the fields needed to send your cards, for as long as you are on the mailing list – nothing extra, and nothing forever.
• No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook tracking, or similar behavioral tracking tools.
• Captcha Protection: We use hCaptcha and Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam and fraudulent submissions.
• Secure Website Encryption: Our site operates with SSL encryption to protect submitted information.
• Named Hosting: The site and its email run on servers operated by Namecheap, which therefore holds everything the site holds.

Despite these measures, no online system is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

04 Information Sharing & Third Parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties except for Ferrand Industries, which may access necessary details for record-keeping or related internal operations.

05 Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use only essential cookies for security purposes. These include:

• Session cookies (temporary, for authentication and security).
• Captcha cookies (to prevent spam).

06 Data Retention & Deletion

Because cards go out year after year, we keep your details on file for as long as you are an active recipient, rather than deleting them after each card. This is what lets us catch your birthday again next year without asking you to fill out the form twice.

• Mailing information is kept while you are on the list, and updated whenever you tell us it has changed.
• Card preferences are stored to make sure we send what you want and skip what you do not.
• Account details (email and password, if you created an account) are kept only for as long as the account exists, and can be deleted along with everything else on request.

You can ask to be taken off the list entirely, or have your information corrected or deleted, at any time – see Section 07.

07 Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of the data we have on file for you (if any).
• Right to Correction: Update inaccurate or outdated information.
• Right to Deletion: Ask us to remove your data and take you off the list entirely.
• Right to Restrict Processing: Opt out of specific uses of your data (e.g., receiving certain types of cards).

08 Legal Compliance

We comply with applicable privacy laws, including:

• Ferrand Industries Safety and Records Regulations (FISRR) (for authorized personnel)

Although we do not collect sensitive data, we take privacy compliance seriously and will honor reasonable data access and deletion requests should they comply with our formatting request.

09 Where AI Comes Into This

Some of the writing on this site was drafted with AI assistance and then reviewed and edited by a person before publishing. Where an image was generated by AI rather than photographed or drawn by hand, it is labelled where it appears.

Your side of it is untouched. Nothing you send us is fed into an AI service. Not your details, not a card you send, not a message. No automated system decides anything about you, your account, or what you are shown.

10 Nothing Here Charges You

There is no paid plan on this site, no checkout, and no card on file. Nothing renews, because nothing bills in the first place.

If that ever changes, the price, the interval and the cancellation route will be shown before you pay, a reminder will arrive at least seven days before each renewal, and cancelling will be a link in your account rather than an email you have to write.

11 Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or our operational practices.

When changes are made, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. You are encouraged to review this policy periodically.
